   Nintendogs Breeds Review

Unlike many games, the highly successful Nintendogs comes in many different flavors and forms. Depending on what breeds of dogs you wish to raise, Nintendogs offers many different combinations of popular breeds. If the ingenuity and the uniqueness of a game offering players the opportunity to raise digital dogs isn’t enough, the fact that one can choose which sorts of dogs they want to choose from is definitely a witty marketing scheme.

But enough on that, no doubt you would like to know more on what sorts of breeds are available in the Nintendogs releases. This, again, then depends on whether you go for the original Japanese released games, or, more likely if you are reading this, their American counterparts. But for your sake, we’ll break down both releases.

Nintendogs Japanese Editions:

Nintendogs Chihuahua & Friends: Beagle, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever, and Shih Tzu

Nintendogs Miniature Dachshund & Friends: German Shepherd, Miniature Dachshund, Miniature Schnauzer, Pug, and Yorkshire Terrier

Nintendogs Shiba & Friends: Miniature Pinscher, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Shetland Sheepdog, Shiba Inu, and Toy Poodle

Nintendogs American/European Editions:

Nintendogs Chihuahua & Friends: Boxer, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, German Shepherd, Shetland Sheepdog, and Yorkshire Terrier

Nintendogs Dachshund & Friends: Beagle, Golden Retriever, Pug, Shih Tzu, Miniature Dachshund, and Siberian Husky

Nintendogs Lab & Friends: Labrador Retriever, Miniature Pinscher, Miniature Schnauzer, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Shiba Inu, and Toy Poodle

Nintendogs Best Friends Version: Beagle, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Miniature Dachshund, and Yorkshire Terrier

A couple things to notice is that for one the Best Friends version is exclusive to North America. Also, the American/European Editions contain six breeds of dogs to the Japanese Editions five. Now, while it is still debated as to if the Chihuahua really can ever have any friends (they really are vicious little things), the fact does remain that Nintendogs offers quite a good selection of breeds between the different versions, each with its own unique appeal to potential players.
